As for Drew, it was just one of those situations.  After he got injured and Brady filled in successfully (and kept winning games) Belichick made the tough but correct decision to keep Brady going for that season....
culminating in our first SB win.  He was still with the team through the end of that season and took the high road by not crying about it in public and not trying to divide the locker room by stirring up shit... a very honorable and hard thing to do when you've lost your starting position. He sat quiet and did the team thing for the remainder of that season and got his ring.  He did make it known that he wanted to play and start so it was a mutual decision to  move on.  He's since been in Buffalo and is now back with Parcels.

He certainly is a classy guy and was very much the team player throughout that entire 2001 season.  I wish him all the best.
